Being a home business with a busy home I prefer to meet my clients at coffee shops, their homes, or their venue.
I am so concerned about time, location, phone numbers, details, paperwork.... I tend to forget to ask what they look like or describe fluffy old me!
Recently I met a lovely couple at the Panera in Silver Spring. (That's Downtown Silver Spring. Yes, that has caused confusion!) The Bride texted me "I'm wearing a green scarf...you won't miss me!".
Hmmm... she doesn't know me and my ability to not see what is before my eyes!
Arriving at the restaurant I noticed not one but FOUR women with green scarves. (It was, after all St Patrick's weekend.)
I stood in line for my coffee and looked around. The woman with small children with a lovely green floral silk scarf around her shoulders looked at me and smiled. Are you my Bride? Heavens no! She laughed ! "Lovely scarf," I said in apology.
Another woman with a teal green scarf tied around her neck looked like a good prospect, but she had a thick gold wedding ring. The third green scarf woman rushed by hurriedly and was obviously not looking for anyone.
Just then I received a phone call from my Bride. She was sitting in the corner wearing a dark green scarf neatly tied over her head. Exactly as she described. I couldn't miss her.
